Jam Improvisation and Open Stage
New! Dance and improvise together in Hakvutza, every third or fourth Saturday of the month.
Jam Improvisation and Open Stage, facilitated by Ewa Szubstarska
How does it work?
Our jam is divided into two parts:
19:00-20:30 – Warm-up with tools and open stage:
During the warm-up, we move our bodies, learn and review tools and principles, and prepare as a group for the “open stage” space – a space where we practice group scores, explore different improvisation forms, and rehearse tools for performance. This session will lead us into a movement and performative space, where we become both spectators and performers, playing between the two.
20:30-22:30 – Improvisation Jam:
We enter the jam with the tools we received and continue to dance, improvise, and practice movement communication and shared responsibility within a magical space that is always changing, surprising, and enabling – a space that allows for immediate and spontaneous composition of movement in space with others, joining, disassembling, assembling, and changing…
Who is it for?
Improvisation Jam is a training space for all levels, for practicing and exploring improvisation, dance, and free movement. It’s a unique space that allows for play and exploration of improvisation, communication, listening, awareness, and enjoyment.
